I Like Sleepaway Camps（我喜欢住宿营）

Joy，7岁，2年级。3岁时移民到纽约，现就读于曼哈顿一所知名私校。喜欢踢足球、游泳、高尔夫、唱歌以及戏剧。每年夏天回到北京了解中国文化，学习中文。

回到纽约后，Joy在星巴克写下了这篇感想文。

This summer I just turned 7 years old. After my birthday I went to two sleepaway camps. One was one week and the next one was two weeks. It was my first time leaving my mom.

今年夏天我刚满7岁。过完生日我就参加了两个住宿营。一个一周，一个两周。这是我第一次离开妈妈。

The first sleepaway camp is called Greenwoods. I was brave at first and then on the first night I cried a little bit. I attended pottery, soccer, rock climbing, ice skating, swimming, archery, CS, Kayaking and Gaga. Everyday we have 4 activities. At night we have party like Halloween, singing, dancing and movie night. I like this camp because it has a lot of fun activities.

第一个住宿营叫游美。我刚入营的时候很勇敢，可是在第一晚我忍不住哭了一会儿（想家）。我参加了陶艺、足球、攀岩、滑冰、游泳、射箭、真人CS、皮划艇和嘎嘎球等活动。每天我们要参加4个活动。晚上我们有很多party，例如万圣节、唱歌、跳舞和电影之夜。我喜欢这个营地因为它提供很多好玩的活动。

My second camp is called IDEAS. I have been there for two weeks. I did a lot of sports and games. I played Gaga, rock climbing, and a game called dodgeball and soccer. My counselors are Xiaoer and Mumu. My room is 208. I sleep on the top bunk. We have 8 kids in our room. My mom brought Pikachu for me. I put it on my bed. When I miss my mom, I hug my Pikachu. I made two new friends, Tiantian and Xuanxuan. We went to the beach to play sand and swim together. We three lived in the tent for one night, and it was fun. In the camp, my favorite part was dancing at night.

第二个住宿营叫启行，我在那里住了两周。我做了很多运动和游戏。我玩了嘎嘎球、攀岩、足球等。我的辅导员是小二和木木。我的房间是208，我睡上铺，每个寝室有8个孩子。我的妈妈给我买了一个皮卡丘的抱枕，我放在床上，每当我想妈妈的时候我就抱着它。我交了两个新朋友，天天和萱萱。我们一起去海滩玩沙子，一起游泳。我们三个还在一个帐篷里睡了一晚，特别有趣。在这个营地里，我最喜欢的活动是晚上跳舞。
